Basically I am looking for a french satellite receiver/recorder with two lnb input built in hard drive to allow to record one program and view another and also like skyplus to program it to record programs like sky series link i.e. every week at a certain time. Any particular model you recommend.

How big is your dish?
New Eutelsat 5 West B (E5WB) and old Eutelsat 5 West A (E5WA) are in the same direction (azimuth and elevation) but the LNB skew has changed slightly by +3.5° from E5WA to E5WB.

OsloTNTSAT
We are located in Oslo, Norway and have received french TNT-channels over Eutelsat5A on one box, and on another and newer box via 5B satelite until about 4 weeks ago. Then suddenly all channels except FR3 was gone, and today also FR3 and all local FR3 emissions are gone.
Our dish is oval 75x85cm.
There seem to be a new EutelSAT B operating in addition to the A satelitte.
Can anybody suggest a size parabol dish that probably will give reception ?
The LNG-head on our present dish is at least 10 years old(no digital HD beaming then) and maybe not suitable for reception of present satelite content ?
Can anybody comment on this ?

@OsloTNTSAT: you can go to the french version of this site (https://www.satexpat.com/couverture/ouest/5/5wb/) and there you can read all the thread about the change to E5WB. In Oslo, you will need a bigger dish, I'm using a 115x105cm and I have all the channels during most part of the day with nice weather, one of the transponders (11554 V) disappears around 23h. I'm planning to get a 130x120cm and I guess that will give me a quite stable signal. You need to adjust the antenna very precisely though, leave me your details and I can help if you wish (I have one spare dish also...) LNB head and receiver might also be important but the most important is to get a bigger dish. Regards, Alejandro

Hi,
I plan to put up a dish for FTA french channels on 5W. I see they swapped onto the new beam.
I don't think my decoder has DVB-S2X. Only DVB-S2. The decoder is built into the Philips TV ( also has a CI slot).
Which dish size will work in Brussels, Belgium in all weather?
Do I need DVB-S2X, or can I get away with DVB-S2?

There is nothing modulated with DVB-S2X on Eutelsat 5W 5°W.
The 27 French TNT channels via Fransat (DVB-S2) are encrypted, you need a valid Fransat smartcard inserted into the slot of a Fransat decoder or Fransat CA module.
These channels are also FTA on Eutelsat 5W 5°W but modulated with DVB-S2 MIS.
You are in Belgium and you have a Philips TV DVB-S2 with a CI+ (I guess) slot.
• Reliable option: a new Fransat decoder (smartcard included)
• Less reliable option: a new Fransat CA module (smartcard included) inserted into the TV CI+ slot
The signal is strong in Belgium:

Dish size in Brussels in all weather? Maybe larger than 80 cm.
